What do the Watch D.O.G.S. do?
Spend part of or the whole day at school being a role model for kids:
Volunteer in their student(s)'s classroom as well as others (up to 4 classrooms in a day!)
Enjoy lunch with their kid(s)
Help at lunch and recess by chatting or playing with kids
 

Program Benefits
Students gain a positive male role model. Some students do not have a father-figure present in their home and the number of male teachers has been steadily declining in recent years. More positive male role models are needed in the school setting.
Schools gain an extra set of eyes and ears. The presence of Watch D.O.G.S. can increase a sense of security for students and staff, and it helps create an environment conducive to learning.
Fathers spend meaningful time with their students in school and gain a greater awareness of the positive impact they can have on their student's life, just by being a "dad".
When Watch D.O.G.S. invest a day at school, they can learn how better to partner with the school to meet educational goals of students.

Attend a free Watch D.O.G.S. training session with your student(s). 
Be sure your required district volunteer forms are current. VOLUNTEER FORM (or pick up in the Fernwood office)

Please note as you should only schedule a time to volunteer that is at least 5 days in advance of when you are signing up.
SignUp.com does not share your email address with anyone. If you prefer not to use your email address, please contact PTSA Coordinator to be signed up manually.
**Reminder: Your background check must be up to date, they are good for 2 years.Please contact the Fernwood office if you have questions about yours.**
